Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps you understand the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and behaviours. It focuses on identifying patterns that may be maintaining current difficulties and developing more helpful ways of coping.

How CBT can help

CBT can be helpful for a range of difficulties, including:

  • Anxiety and worry

  • Depression and low mood

  • Stress and burnout

  • Panic symptoms

  • Social anxiety

  • Health anxiety

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Low self esteem

  • Post-natal depression

  • Women’s health

Together, we will explore what’s keeping you stuck and work to develop practical strategies to support change.

What to expect in sessions

CBT is a collaborative and structured approach. Sessions are focused on your individual goals and what feels most important to you.

In sessions we will:

  • Explore how your current difficulties developed and how they are being maintained

  • Identify unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours

  • Discuss and implement practical strategies and exercises during and between sessions

  • Develop tools to support you to manage challenges more effectively in daily life
